StomaphyX

Oklahoma WEIGHT LOSS OPtions is now pleased to offer the StomaphyX procedure to previous Gastric Bypass patients still looking to lose additional weight.

What is StomaphyX?
StomaphyX is an endoscopic procedure used to reduce pouch and stoma size by creating pleats or folds in the pouch tissue. This returns the pouch to a size close to what it was just after gastric bypass surgery allowing patients to feel satisfied after eating 1/2-3/4 c of food. Since StomaphyX is done endoscopically no incisions are made.

Who are good candidates for StomaphyX?
Good candidates for StomaphyX have previously had gastric bypass surgery (at least 2 years post op), showed compliance with the bariatric diet, experienced good initial weight loss and either regained 20-50 pounds or failed to lose their final 20-50 pounds. Candidates also need to show symptoms of a stretched pouch or stoma (not feeling satisfied after eating 1/2- 3/4c meal).
